Dogs on Boats

Dogs love to go on boats! It probably the thrill of the boat cruising through the water and the wind in the fur that make dog’s love this treat! If you go fast, there may be concern to watch out for your dog’s safety. We all know most dogs can swim, but for how long, especially if it’s cold water, or if there are waves and wakes. It’s always good to keep an eye on your dog, but if you’re the only one in the boat, you should probably watch where you’re driving as well! So whats one to do? leave the dog on the shore – na.  Tie the dog to something inside the boat (never a good idea!) – na. Maybe place your loved one in a lightweight comfortable dog life jacket.  Humans were life jackets right? and Humans can swim (most of them), but the jacket is more for assistance and aid then as a leisure fashion! take a quick second to think about this.  Is you’re dog’s life worth 2 minutes of your time when putting on the cute little dog life jacket? OF COURSE! Just remember to be safe out there…and while you’re at it, place your firends, kids and your dog in life jackets!
